2.   Explain what the defenestration of Prague was and why it mattered.

4.  In the book, Susan Bauer says Gustavus II of Sweden and Christian IV of Denmark attacked Ferdinand II of Germany to stop him from attacking them.  Do you find that argument convincing?  Why or why not?

5.  Why did Japan close itself off from the world?  What religion were Japanese forbidden to practice, and why?
